Michael McGuire
President & Chief Executive Officer
Michael McGuire has led Affinity Bank as its President and Chief Executive Officer since 1996. Prior to joining Affinity Bank, he served as President at three other financial institutions in a career spanning more than thirty years in the banking and mortgage banking industries.
Mr. McGuire’s experience includes the oversight and management of residential and income property mortgage banking departments and has served as Treasurer of a $2 billion California bank. He has also held various positions in several trade associations including Chairman of the California Association of Industrial Banks, Chairman of the Colorado League of Savings Institutions and director of the Western League of Savings Institutions.
Equally involved in housing and economic development on a local and national level, he currently serves as Board President of the Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation, Ventura County’s leading non-profit builder of affordable housing, and as a director of Social Impact, a catalyst for new economic development in the emerging markets of America’s inner-city neighborhoods.
A leading authority on affordable housing finance, Mr. McGuire has oriented Affinity Bank’s multifamily lending programs to encourage the preservation and rehabilitation of existing rental property housing. |

David Mahan
Executive Vice President & Chief Lending Officer
As Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer of Affinity Bank, Dave Mahan oversees the bank’s entire real estate lending program. During his career, he has
managed portfolio lending operations for several major institutions, with responsibilities ranging from point of origination to the sale of assets in the secondary market.
Among Dave’s major accomplishments, he has developed loan origination teams with as many as 18 offices, sold more than $5 billion in residential loans in the secondary market and in excess of $3 billion in income property loans, and served as a loan underwriter involving projects in 37 states. Dave also owned and operated a mortgage brokerage company, with offices in California and Arizona.
As a veteran portfolio lender, Dave understands first-hand the complexities of the mortgage business, and applies his experiences to the development of Affinity Bank’s income property lending programs. |

Frank J. Dick
Senior Vice President & Secondary Marketing Manager
Frank has been in the banking business for more than 28 years. His experience includes 17 years at a central California thrift serving as Appraisal Manager and Secondary Marketing Manager and 5 years as Managing Director of Capital Markets for a southern California bank.
Frank has been involved in various non-profit organizations, as well as industry activities. He is a past president of the Institute of Financial Education’s San Joaquin chapter, member of secondary marketing committees, an instructor for college level banking courses and a popular lecturer at trade organizations.
His responsibilities as Secondary Marketing Manager include purchasing and selling loans, arranging forward commitments, developing loan programs and enhancing investor relations. |

Edward Summers
Senior Vice President & Chief Credit Officer
Ed Summers is a 20 year veteran in commercial banking. His professional experience includes over fourteen years with one of the nation’s leading real estate lenders where he served 7 years as that bank’s Vice President and Regional Commercial Banking Manager, and for three years as its Vice President and Manager in the portfolio analysis and compliance division.
Active in economic and non-profit activities, Ed currently serves as the Board Chair for the Ventura County Economic Development Association, trustee for the California Business Week Foundation, a member of Ventura County’s 1995 Base Realignment and Closure task Force, and a member of the city planning commission.
Ed’s success is built on hard work - at his desk and in the community - and a clear understanding of the key underwriting objectives and client’s perspective in reaching a credit decision. It is Ed’s job to say “yes” as often as possible – he is very good at his job. |
