Affinity Bank Awards $47,500 to Non-Profit Corporations
Ventura, CA - In its ongoing commitment to support non-profit community
groups providing affordable housing and related services to low/moderate
income people, Affinity Bank contributed $47,500 funding to local
organizations in July 2002.
Affinity Bank president and CEO, Michael R. McGuire, said, "Affinity
Bank is pleased to be able to contribute to these organizations
and assist them as they strive to provide important services to
members of our communities who are in need. We greatly appreciate
the efforts of those who give so much of their time and energy to
helping people and we are proud to do our part."
Mr. McGuire said checks were delivered to representatives from
Ventura County organizations including Operation Hope, Livingston
Memorial Visiting Nurse Association, Assistance League of Ventura
County and Westside Community Council.
Affinity Bank also delivered a check to the residential shelter
program of A Safe Place in Oakland, California. A Safe Place, an
Alameda County non-profit organization, provides battered woman
and their children with transitional and support services to enable
them to break the cycle of violence and regain a sense of self-esteem
and personal power. A Safe Place also strives to create change in
behavior and beliefs in an effort to end domestic violence.
Affinity Bank's community investment policy provides for a portion
of the Bank's pre-tax earnings to be invested supporting affordable
housing for low/moderate income people, providing economic development
opportunities to its communities, and targeting community services
for Special Needs Populations.
