Affinity Bank Donation Helps Disabled Athletes

Ventura, CA – In response to a growing need for financial assistance for children with disabilities, Affinity Bank hosted a recent golf tournament that successfully raised $6,000 to be donated to the Athletes Helping Athletes (AHA) Foundation. The donation allows the purchase of a new handcycle that will give a child with disabilities the opportunity to participate and excel in sporting activities.

Affinity Bank president and CEO, Michael R. McGuire said, “Affinity Bank is honored to be able to assist in helping disabled children realize their potential. We extend our appreciation and thanks to Eric Sanchez, Affinity Bank’s Irvine Branch Manager, for bringing this issue to light and actively pursuing an avenue which greatly benefits our youth.”

About Athletes Helping Athletes (AHA)
Athletes Helping Athletes was founded in 2000 in response to disabled children desperately in need of handcycles, wheelchairs, prosthetics and other adaptive sports equipment. By utilizing the equipment, children with disabilities can participate in sporting activities instead of being forced to sit on the sidelines and watch other children play. Due to the considerable expense in purchasing adaptive sports equipment, AHA helps raise money to donate the equipment to children.
