Cottage Home Receives $10,000 from Affinity Bank

Ventura CA- Affinity Bank announced a $10,000 contribution to the Cottage Home, a community service project of the Ventura Downtown Lions Club. The Cottage Home provides foster children with a safe and nurturing environment while permanent accommodations can be located. Due to the ability to house up to six foster children, the Cottage Home offers the unique opportunity to keep siblings together while their parents work towards restructuring their lives with the goal of reuniting with their families.

Michael R. McGuire, Affinity Bank president and chief executive officer said, “Affinity Bank applauds the Ventura Downtown Lions Club and the County of Ventura Children’s Services Division of the Public Social Services Agency for their continuing commitment to establish a stable home environment where children and their families can develop and grow. Affinity Bank is privileged to be a part of the success of this project.”

The Cottage Home was founded in 1969 by Dr. Robert Coombs, a Ventura Downtown Lions Club member. Foster children are selected for the home through an agreement between the Home parents and the County of Ventura’s Children’s Services Division of the Public Social Services Agency (PSSA). Financial support is provided by the County to assist with the children’s emotional and psychological needs. The Ventura Downtown Lions Club offers assistance for the children and their families by supporting family activities.
