Ventura, CA- Affinity Bank announced today a $10,000 donation to the Segue Program, a motivational program designed to empower high school students in making educated decisions about their future careers. Through numerous in-class motivational presentations given by parents and community volunteers about career paths, the Segue Program helps increase student awareness about workplace realities and equips and empowers students to see that the choices are theirs to make that lead to achieving their career goals.

Michael R. McGuire, Affinity Bank president and chief executive officer said, “Affinity Bank is honored to participate in the future success of our youth. The Segue Program and the parents that volunteer their time to assist by sharing their life stories are to be commended for their unwavering dedication of providing a solid foundation where children can receive informative guidance on their futures.”

The Segue Program is an initiative of the Sustainability Council of Ventura County, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. Segue’s mission is to empower and motivate students to make the choices that lead to a good quality of life. Jerry Beckerman, executive director of the Segue Program said, “At the core, the Segue Formula is simple - more effort in school now equals more options for your future.” The key outcomes of the program are to increase student motivation, awareness of career opportunities, GPAs and test scores, while minimizing stress by alleviating student concerns or uncertainties about how to reach the next stage in life after high school.
